Timeless {Portraits}

Sunday, January 15th, 2012

Another image from my practice studio shoot with Sarah. This one was taken with the Lensbaby.  I love how classic it looks.

I’ve been a little busy with our Support Baby Keslar campaign and the Yellow Ribbon Giveaway.  I hope everyone has time to support, share and enter the giveaway!

Make a little mess {Lensbaby}

Monday, January 9th, 2012

Monty is my pet eclectus…and boy does this guy love pomegranate! I couldn’t help but snap a few photos today of him with his messy beak. Enjoy!

Lift your glasses {Lensbaby}

Saturday, January 7th, 2012

Everyone please lift your glasses tonight and toast: to friends, family, and those wonderful things that come into your lives for but a moment and then go. We get few things in life to us that mean so much and we often take them for granted. I hope you will take a moment and remember what you love and cherish it.

Tonight I raise my glass in honor of Betty the blue and gold macaw who passed away quite suddenly. Betty was the foster bird of a friend here in Monterey and was very loved.

Photo taken at Ventana Vineyards at a glorious wine tasting with a few friends on Friday.

MPC Farmer’s Market {Local}

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012

The farmer’s market at Monterey Peninsula College is a lovely place to shop for fruits, vegetables, cheese, homebaked goods and other delicious items.  Each Friday from 10-2 the vendors hock their wares to the less-touristy crowd in a quiet and enjoyable experience. Last week, there was an awesome jazz band playing. I couldn’t resist photographing them and playing with my new Lensbaby.  What do you think?

This one wouldn’t normally make the cut…however, it’s a very typical Lensbaby image.  The focus is soft, the photo is dynamic with a lot of texture.  Keep it or delete it?

Paris {Pet}

Tuesday, December 27th, 2011

Paris is a darling green cheek conure that I own. This is a photo I took with my new Lensbaby lens. I just love the bokeh and how sweet and soft her eyes look.

Happy Holidays from Monterey, CA

Sunday, December 25th, 2011

I wish you all a very, very merry Christmas and a happy new year. I hope Santa was good to you and yours! This is our first Christmas in our own home away from family.  We want to give special recognition to those military families who can’t spend the holidays with their family and loved ones even if they wanted to.  May your Soldiers, Airmen, Marines, and Seamen be very safe this holiday season.
